Passivhaus Consultant

With the impact of the climate and fuel crisis becoming ever more evident in our everyday lives, the need to design our homes and buildings to minimise energy demand has never been more pertinent. It is for this reason that we are seeing increased demand for developments seeking to achieve the international Passivhaus standard.

 

Our Certified Passivhaus Consultancy service provides project design teams with support from concept through to completion ensuring that a development achieves Passivhaus Certification in a cost-effective and efficient way. Support is provided by our experienced team of Certified Passivhaus Consultants, who offer guidance and provide confidence throughout each stage of the process. Our team undertake Passivhaus Planning Package (PHPP) calculations to assess compliance and can also produce bespoke Psi-value Calculations to ensure that thermal bridging is minimised.

 

We are looking for a motivated and passionate individual to join our team and lead our involvement in Passivhaus developments across the country. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to be involved in a progressive company, whilst working in a supportive team environment.

___________ The Role

 

We are looking for a Passivhaus Consultant to join our team in Glasgow. The role is ideally suited to an individual of an architectural background with experience of being involved in the delivery of new-build and/or retrofit residential projects designed to a low-energy / low-carbon / Passivhaus standard.

 

The preferred candidate will have excellent knowledge of the key factors that impact on building energy performance including fabric design, thermal bridging, ventilation, airtightness, overheating, heating and hot water solutions, and renewable technology. 

 

The candidate should also have a very good understanding of Climate Change / Net Zero guidance by organisations such as LETI and UKGBC and how to apply the guidance to building performance.

 

___________ Experience

 

  • Certifier European Passivhaus Designer / Consultant
  • Experience of delivering new-build and/or retrofit residential projects to a certified Passivhaus / EnerPHit standard
  • Experience of using PHPP and Design PH
  • Experience of analysing and understanding the energy performance of buildings
  • Experience of operating within the construction sector
  • Good understanding of the Passivhaus standard
  • Good understanding of detailed construction drawings
  • Good understanding of mechanical & electrical building services design
  • Good understanding of low and zero carbon generating technologies

  • Excellent Autodesk AutoCAD skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and communicate effectively

  • Fluent spoken and written English is essential as is your eligibility to work in the UK
